Nairobi, Kenya – In a significant move as Kenya gears up for the highly anticipated Total Energies tournament, CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba visited Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums today.

This inspection, taking place well ahead of the tournament set to kick off on August 2, 2025, aims to ensure that the facilities are fully prepared to host top-tier international matches.

During his comprehensive tour of the stadiums, Mosengo-Omba meticulously evaluated the playing surfaces, seating arrangements, and essential amenities, emphasizing the critical need for meeting international standards. His focus extended beyond the physical infrastructure; he also examined security measures, fan experiences, and accessibility for all attendees.

After the inspections, Mosengo-Omba engaged in a productive courtesy call with Hon Salim Mvurya, the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, at his office. The meeting was a platform for discussing the ongoing preparations required for the tournament, including logistics, staffing, and promotional efforts to ensure a successful event that can boost Kenya’s standing in the global sports arena.

“This is a pivotal moment for Kenyan sports, and we are committed to showcasing our capabilities as hosts,” said Mvurya during the meeting. Both leaders underscored the importance of teamwork among various stakeholders to achieve a seamless and memorable tournament experience for players and fans alike.
