Six Fan Zones set in Nairobi ahead of Sunday’s TotalEnergies CHAN 2024 fixture against Zambia

Nairobi Kenya: The Kenya Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and the Kenya Government have confirmed six official Fan Zones in Nairobi to ensure that fans can participate in the excitement of Kenya’s decisive Group A match at the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (“CHAN”) PAMOJA 2024 against Zambia on Sunday, 17 August.

These fan zones are designed to accommodate thousands of supporters who may not be able to attend the match in person, offering an inclusive and festive atmosphere with large screens for live viewing, food and beverage vendors, entertainment, and enhanced security measures.

The match will be played at the iconic Kasarani Stadium, one of the largest sports venues in East Africa, with a seating capacity of over 60,000. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 local time. This highly anticipated fixture is expected to draw massive crowds both at the stadium and across the city’s fan zones, as Kenya faces Zambia in a crucial contest that will determine advancement from Group A.

The six official fan zones will be located at:

  • Uhuru Park (CBD)
  • Lucky Summer – Ngomongo (behind Kasarani Stadium)
  • Dandora Stadium
  • Utalii – Stima Club
  • Jacaranda Grounds
  • Kibera DC Grounds

The Kenyan Government, working closely with the Local Organizing Committee, Football Kenya Federation (“FKF”) and CAF have introduced enhanced measures including:

  • Enhanced security at checkpoints
  • Ticket scanning for authentication
  • Counterfeit ticket detection protocols
  • Increased security presence in and around Stadiums

Only spectators with valid Electronic match tickets will be allowed into Kasarani Stadium, while fans without tickets are encouraged to visit the Fan Zones.
